Potential is dormant power

I have realised on this day that one of the most complex frustrations in life is to remain the same; never changing; never growing; never learning. It is like being locked away in a prison, or restricted to a specific routine. It reminds me of Trinidad’s current state of emergency, and also my job; two instances where a lack of activity has become an unwanted result. The main thing is that there is some sort of restriction in place, preventing movement, and I have had this nagging feeling of stagnancy for so long in my life that I have finally made the decision to make my life as I want it to be, or should I say as it is destined to be.

“Potential is dormant power”; this is a quote that I have only recently learnt and it speaks volumes about my situation. I am aware that there is significant potential in me to do great things but perhaps I am not so aware of how great this dormant power within me is, or can become. I say this because I believe that if I had truly understood the perplexity of this power within me, I would have committed myself long before now to making it manifest. I therefore venture into the depths of my imagination to conjure up what this unlimited power shielded in a cocoon of potential could be like. It is a wondrous place to explore indeed and I am pleased to say that it has me in more than a pensive mood for once. For what good is it to simply think about the future? It is through action that things get done!

“Faith without works is dead” James 2:20. It takes the Bible to have said everything about life first. It is only through our toil and trouble do we come to fully understand God’s word at times, which goes to show how much faith we really have, because if not having understood it ourselves through our own experience, it is hardly likely that we would have heed the warning. That’s the human race for you; an entity that I am bound to mimic in my own mistakes.

““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”, declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”” Isaiah 55:8-9. With that having been said, who are we to doubt the Lord? Whether we can see it coming or not, obedience to God’s word can save us a lot of time and trouble. It is an unwavering faith that allows us to pull the power out of our potential and bring glory to God through it, for it is through Him that all things are made possible in the first place.
