I have realised on this day that one of the most complex frustrations in life is to remain the same; never changing; never growing; never learning. It is like being locked away in a prison, or restricted to a specific routine. It reminds me of Trinidad’s current state of emergency, and also my job; two instances where a lack of activity has become an unwanted result. The main thing is that there is some sort of restriction in place, preventing movement, and I have had this nagging feeling of stagnancy for so long in my life that I have finally made the decision to make my life as I want it to be, or should I say as it is destined to be.
“Potential is dormant power”; this is a quote that I have only recently learnt and it speaks volumes about my situation. I am aware that there is significant potential in me to do great things but perhaps I am not so aware of how great this dormant power within me is, or can become. I say this because I believe that if I had truly understood the perplexity of this power within me, I would have committed myself long before now to making it manifest. I therefore venture into the depths of my imagination to conjure up what this unlimited power shielded in a cocoon of potential could be like. It is a wondrous place to explore indeed and I am pleased to say that it has me in more than a pensive mood for once. For what good is it to simply think about the future? It is through action that things get done!
“Faith without works is dead” James 2:20. It takes the Bible to have said everything about life first. It is only through our toil and trouble do we come to fully understand God’s word at times, which goes to show how much faith we really have, because if not having understood it ourselves through our own experience, it is hardly likely that we would have heed the warning. That’s the human race for you; an entity that I am bound to mimic in my own mistakes.
““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”, declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”” Isaiah 55:8-9. With that having been said, who are we to doubt the Lord? Whether we can see it coming or not, obedience to God’s word can save us a lot of time and trouble. It is an unwavering faith that allows us to pull the power out of our potential and bring glory to God through it, for it is through Him that all things are made possible in the first place.

The Bible WARNS, CORRECTS AND DIRECTS
After all the recent disasters around the world and most recently Japan's earthquake and tsunami...and all the BBM messages asking me to pray...franctic responses about the world coming to an end, Christians who aint have their act together, along with the uninformed and MISINFORMED rest of the world...I hereby write this:
SIGNS OF THE END TIMES:
Matthew 24:3-14
3 “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”
4 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.” (don’t let any and everybody declare anything to you, other than what is stated in the Word of God. This is why it is important to maintain a close and intimate relationship with God so that he can reveal what is false to you and open up your eyes in situations where many remain blinded and deceived. It gives you the privilege also, to consult God on things such as his coming, and he will show you even more than the bible can disclose. Also, when you have heard something directly from God, you have to be careful of who you tell because there are many people working against God who will use this information to cause greater havoc in the world).
5 “For many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
6 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye BE NOT TROUBLED: for ALL THESE THINGS MUST COME TO PASS, but the end is not yet.” (if you are living a life in Christ, you should not be afraid of these things to come/already happening…there really is no preventing or changing it)
7 “For nation shall rise against nation and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, IN DIVERS (several; various; sundry) PLACES.” (by the definition of the word “divers”, this proves that we cannot say exactly where or what part of the world these things will happen, but know that it will happen in abundance.)
8 “All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
9 “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” (persecution)
10 “And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another”
11 “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
12 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” (this should speak for murders in our own country and others. Even simple dislikes for one another is evidence of this).
13 “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (these are those, who despite persecutions, devastations, disasters and longsuffering, will continue to represent and live for Christ unto to the day that they die. “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.” (Luke 6: 22 & 23).
14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; AND THEN shall the end come.” (It is clear that the end WILL come, whether we think it is right or not that it should. However, it will not come until ALL these things have come to pass. Many tend to say, what about those who never heard about Jesus and the gospel and those who grew up to believe in other religions, BUT, note again that it says, that the gospel will be preached to ALL THE WORLD and unto ALL nations, AND THEN the end will come. This means, until every man jack has heard the gospel of Christ, the world will not come to an end, and Jesus will not return; not until ALL these things come to pass.
CONTINUE TO READ MATTHEW 24:15-51 AND IT WILL REVEAL EVEN MORE ABOUT CHRIST’S COMING!
And here goes a SECOND account of what Jesus said to his disciples concerning the end times and his second coming:
Luke 21:6-19
6 “As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” (for those who make their worldly possessions their end all and be all, for those who find importance in religious ceremonies of adorning statues and giving physical gifts to their gods, for those who take great pride in their outward appearance leaving their spiritual selves in a HAWT MESS! Take note that all these PHYSICAL AND WORLDLY things WILL perish).
7 “And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? And what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?”
8 “And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” (Stop running after everyone who claims to have “an answer”. STUDY your bible, talk to God)
9 “But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.”
10 “Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:”
11 “And GREAT earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there BE FROM HEAVEN.” (YES!! FROM HEAVEN! “For the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof” (1 Corinthians 10:26, Psalm 24:1), and so he can do as he pleases with it! Satan does not have that kind of power, so it really doesn’t make sense praying against a heavenly thing!
12 “But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.” (if you truly serve Christ, expect it!)
13 “And it shall turn to you for a testimony”
14 “Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:” (“Don’t worry, about a thing…cuz every little thing is gona be alright”…once you serve Christ)
15 “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” (He never sends his soldiers into battle unarmed. It’s up to you to trust HIM!)
16 “And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and SOME OF YOU shall they cause to be put to death.” (Yes, some of us will die…expect it!)
17 “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.”
18 “But there shall not an hair of your head perish.” (He looks out for his own)
19 “In your PATIENCE possess ye your souls.”
And there is more :O
Be observant of the people around you, and even yourself and your own actions.
2Timothy 3
1 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
2 “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,”
3 “Without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent
(lacking in moderation or self-control, especially of sexual desire), fierce, despisers of those
that are good,”
4 “Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of PLEASURES more than lovers of God;” (we have an abundance of these…)
5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (this identifies many Christians and backsliders (those who have turned away from Christ despite being aware of the truth) in and out of the church.)
6 “For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,” (HMMMM!!!)
7 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth,” (this reminds me of James 4:3 “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” There are many of us who pray amiss because we are praying within our own desires and not within the desires of God! Also reminds me of scholars who feed on theories and assumptions while ignoring the truth that is in the Bible, simply because they are unable to comprehend and make logic out of it. Remember though that “the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14.
DIRECTION & CORRECTION
Isaiah 26: 4-6, 21 (KJV)
4 “Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:”
5 “For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the LOFTY city, he layeth it low; he layeth it Low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to dust.”
6 “The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.”
Who is to say therefore, that God will not punish those who do not follow in his way? It is said clearly that he will “layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to dust”. And then goes on to say even the poor and the needy will experience this. Once you are out of God’s will, his wrath will devour you, no matter your circumstance, which is why it is initially said to “Trust ye in the Lord for ever…” no matter what! It is this that will save many.
21 “For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” (sins do not go unpunished)
Romans 6:11-13, 19-23
11 “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
12 “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.”
13 “Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”
19 “I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to UNCLEANESS and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness and holiness”
A direct command has been given to turn away from sin and yield ourselves unto God!
20 “For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.”
21 “What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.”
23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
It is clearly stated what the consequence of sin is. No, ifs or buts about it! The question is asked, what will you gain from living in sin, because the only reward for sin is death.
22 “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.”
The only way to eternal life is by becoming a servant of God. It is only “through Christ Jesus our saviour” can one be saved from the death that sin will surely bring. There is hope!
2Timothy 3:12-17
12 “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (It’s just bound to happen)
13 “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and BEING DECEIVED.”
14 “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been ASSURED OF, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”
15 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are ABLE TO MAKE THEE WISE UNTO SALVATION THROUGH FAITH WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS” (Reassurance)
16 “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS:” (yet we still complain of not knowing what to do in life; seeking all other means except the one most open, truthful and available to you; often disguised under the deceitful cloak of religion; but taken in pureness of heart, and diligence in seeking the things of God, it will only profit you).
17 “That the man of God may be PERFECT, THOROUGHLY FURNISHED unto ALL GOOD WORKS.” (Very often, we claim that perfection is not possible within a human being, but I tell you that is a lie straight from the pit of hell; it is a deception that satan surely rejoices in. It is about time that we stop being LAZY and COMPLACENT! To DILIGENTLY seek God is not a fly by night approach. It is only really easy when you discover your purpose through Christ and love God enough to fulfil it!.
THERE’S JUST SO MUCH MORE THROUGHOUT! I URGE YOU TO STUDY YOUR BIBLE. THIS DOESN’T EVEN SCRATCH THE DEPTH THAT IT CONTAINS. AND I HAVENT EVEN TOUCHED ON REVELATION…
“BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1Peter 5:8
